In this newsletter: Meditation 'Diving into the Depths of Self' ~*~*~*~ Link of the Month ~*~*~*~ By Myriah Krista Walker A coyote has died. Where the rivers are glowing Once there was a woman whose heart shone bold And then knots did occur But flowers, some come round again It is a game, you see When all is cleared, I’ve locked the door open within. Every day now I will remember this Love I Am. There are others and many who walk behind Me, I Am the daughter of Love I Am. I Am the promise and the provider. So, there are anchored sands that stir up Love? ~*~*~*~ It must have been the sumac trees in my backyard that taught me to love rainbows. Every autumn its leaves turn into the most exquisite shades of melon, orange, yellow, green, fuchsia and burgundy. The leaves are arranged fan-like on a main stem, each leaf an individual expression before the fall. One fan of leaves becomes a living rainbow of autumn colors. In my backyard growing up, I would climb up into a favorite sumac, who’s branches formed a wide fork large enough for my rump to sit upon. My back propped against the tree, I’d read for hours, with only the sound of the wind through the leaves to interrupt. That is still one of my favorite sounds. The change of season brings on different habits. Another blanket goes on the bed. The car’s default air setting goes from cool to warm. Out come the wool socks, gloves, and scarves. The morning ritual of lighting the wood stove begins. It also means covering my small garden every night against frost. Better late than never can apply to many things, but not to gardening. My garden was planted in the sunniest location of the yard, which gets about 6 hours of direct sunlight. But most gardens get, and require, a lot more. Its September and my tomatoes are still green, though I have harvested a few ripe ones already, and there are still blossoms on the plants. The green peppers are half grown, and the jalapeno's aren’t quite big enough. My daily talks to the plants encourage them to accelerate their growth. Only the acorn squash seem happy about the chilly mornings. Fortunately, better late than never does apply to spirituality. The power of Light and Love is the vibration of Harmony and Peace. That vibration begins within, and its natural application is to expand. In ourselves, our attitude, and what we create and allow in our atmosphere and world. The more Light we allow to release from within, the more inspired we are to change for the better in order to accelerate our spiritual growth. Our imperfections reveal themselves. Just as a garden cannot fully ripen without enough Light, so we cannot fully expand when our impurities block the Light. The changes may begin simply, such as turning off the TV and its images of war and destruction, and not looking at similar images in the media. There are magazines I refuse to buy because of the advertising that projects the fear of lack: you are too old, you must look younger, you need this pill, you must dress this way. This is outside mesmerism which only has the power I choose to give it. God, which is Love, is either everything or nothing. Love is everything in my world. There are bigger changes requiring greater discipline and self-control, such as harnessing our words, quitting smoking, changing diet, letting go of addiction, choosing celibacy. I am in the process of creating a section on the Grasses Roots web site devoted to change, and I would love to have you share your experiences there. I will be sharing my personal journal from quitting smoking. By sharing our trials and triumphs we become epicenters of inspiration and encouragement, spreading the healing vibration of Love throughout the world. Would you like to share your personal stories? What changes have you undertaken in response to an inner nudge or feeling to purify yourself and become more spiritually aligned? Whether you share a couple paragraphs, or a couple pages, your story may incite another’s transformation. Please email me at IAMMYRIAH@aol.com to share your story. The following meditation deals with purifying and loving ourselves in this process of awakening. It also reminds us that we are never alone in our journey, that help is always available, and Love is ever present. Click here for this month's meditation Delving into the Depths of Self.
